WikiLeaks guy accused of rape

remember that wikileaks guy who started the site and posted a bunch of sensitive info about the US military/govt? well he's been hanging out in europe (no shit, he wouldnt be caught dead in the states) and recently was arrested for rape.
some speculate that it could be a set-up in the US govt's part, since this guy is doing some serious damage. the idea is, because the US gov't cant actually do anything to criminals outside their country, they could instigate a crime, like rape, to have the person arrested. then, once arrested, the two nations could negotiate extradition of the said criminal back into the US's hands.
here's a news release in case y'all aint hurdd

this is ancient news.... the "rape" case
it was dismissed (the investigation) and then some other district after some prompting? reinstated the case and issued a warrant
him being arrested just happened though (He went to the British police himself for an interview where they arrested him)
its quite scary really whats going on not only has Paypal/Amazon/some web servers denied service
but so has Visa/Mastercard wtf?
feels like we're in Total Recall or something
He was "wanted on suspicion on rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of illegal coercion". None of which has been proven. Even the judge says he's still waiting for evidence. But that's been around for a long time...
The big news is that he was arrested today (he turned himself in).
Facebook still supports WikiLeaks though haha. Good shiet.
EDIT: lol same post time.

I HIGHLY doubt he would go rape someone when he is under a huge microscope like that. Sounds very much like a setup.

Do you work for Fox News? Because your title is a blatant LIE.
He is not being charged for anything, let alone rape. What Interpol is claiming is that two women who had consensual sex with him claim he would not use a condom.
Whats interesting is that he is not being charged for anything, yet there is a "international warrant" for him. The "warrant" claims that he is wanted for "questioning" by the Swedish yet Assange and his lawyers have repeatedly offered to be questioned by Swedish judges via video-conference.
This type of "warrant" by Interpol is extremely rare being that Assange has not been convicted of any crime, his lawyers are in communication with British authorities, and that they (the British) know the location of Assange. Yet the media is touting this story as a "international manhunt" when Assange presented himself to the authorities almost immediately after the British Gov't requested him to do so.
It is BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that this FARCE has has little, if anything to do with the alleged "sexual offences" but a SMEAR CAMPAIGN against the founder and director of Wikileaks. The US gov't wants to get Assange extradited to the US where they can lock him up in hopes to shut down wikileaks and any future dissidents.

Are you 5 years old?
If you want to challenge someone's assertions, you kinda have to make a counter argument and not just spout out brain-dead comments like "have you been under rock"
It's like spouting off to someone "You're Gay!" and think you've accomplished some great feat. Pathetic.
(I don't think he's talking to you)

Typically a response without any quotation or mention of another poster is directed towards the OP. You just think you're so important that everyone must be talking to you! Way to live up to your name.... Noob.

No shit hey, this world....I used to laugh at people who had those signs on their homes that said "I don't dial 9-1-1"....but lately I'm starting to see why
The whole case against him is clearly orchestrated. Now that he's in custody, he's done. I wonder what the soldier that leaked the classified material to WikiLeaks in the first place thinks of all this. It's ironic too, because Julian Assange's attempt to make information more available and governments more transparent will likely have the opposite effect by the time the sun sets on this.
Oh and noobz, I don't think RRxtar was talking to you LOL, I think his comment was towards the OP :D

Pretty sure interpol / US government/ whomever is handling this very carefully. On one hand they want they guy crushed, wikileaks crushed, and his body sent through a meat grinder.
On the other hand, they realize if they do this, he will essentially become a modern day martyr of the interwebs. His influence is just crazy big. Probably will end time at Time's person of the year.
Don't forget we are only on cable 800 of 350,000. So they essentially have a lifetime of leaks. Paypal shutting his account down, his bank shutting his account down only to have their website DDOS'd, and piratebay telling all members to boycott Paypal, Razor1911 supporting wikileaks and hosting a mirror, US Gov't trying to DDOS' the shit out of wikileaks..... essentially almost cyber warfare is coming. hahaha.
One thing's for sure though, it proves that even powerful governments can almost never fully censor the internet.
Don't forget, Wikileaks is only an organizer of a group of websites including The Guardian and The NY Times that is leaking info. Even with Assange gone, the meat and potatoes of the operation will still be functional. Assange, in an interview with CNN described himself as a "lightning rod" in the sense that he gets a lot of credit for things that he hasn't personally done, but also take a lot of heat for the good of the organization. And that analogy has not been more poignant than now.

This is ridiculous. according to the news he was having consensual sex and was wearing a condom. When the condom fell off during sex it turned into rape.

Only a small number of the cables have been released so far. What I've read about our own government so far hasn't been bad.
Like this:
U.S. diplomats made note of Canada's stand against Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi in the fall of 2009.
Gadhafi cancelled a planned stopover in St. John's after learning Cannon wanted to meet him at the airport and express Canada's displeasure over the hero's welcome Libya had given to the man convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

And this:

And this (doesn't indicate we caved to the lobbying or took bribes):

There's apparently 2,648 cables concerning Canada though, so there'll be more stuff coming.

He does have an insurance policy with a locked file that contains a large amount of information, which could be unlocked if anything were to happen to him.
Insurance file
On 29 July 2010 WikiLeaks added a 1.4 GB "Insurance File" to the Afghan War Diary page. The file is AES encrypted and has been speculated to serve as insurance in case the WikiLeaks website or its spokesman Julian Assange are incapacitated, upon which the passphrase could be published, similar to the concept of a dead man's switch.[97][98] Following the first few days' release of the United States diplomatic cables starting 28 November 2010, the US television broadcaster CBS predicted that "If anything happens to Assange or the website, a key will go out to unlock the files. There would then be no way to stop the information from spreading like wildfire because so many people already have copies."[99] CBS correspondent Declan McCullagh stated, "What most folks are speculating is that the insurance file contains unreleased information that would be especially embarrassing to the US government if it were released."[99]

its pretty amazing to read that a country like libya, was able to get away with blackmailing UK, in order to secure his release.
if uk doesn't have any pull, wat good will expressing canada's displeasure achieve.
to add, Canada's reputation on the international stage has gone downhill since harper took over, more recently during the SC vote.

Nothing can happen to Assange, because he has a document that he claims could insight doomsday that will be released in the case of his untimely death. Of course, it could be a straight bluff, but I wouldn't be surprised if such a document exists.

The document exits you can download it from the link I posted. It's encrypted so you can't read it until the key is released.

Mastercard and Visa's sites went down today after hackers attacked the sites.
I also heard that someone might have released the information for around 10,000 Mastercard customers. It was only up for about 5 minutes but still long enough to do damage.
Not sure if Paypal has been hit yet but I'm sure if they havent been hit they will be going down soon too. I've also heard Amazon.com is on the hit list.
The messed up thing is Paypal allows ppl to donate to the KKK but blocks anything to do with Wikileaks.. Amazon.com has books for pedophiles but has also been blocking anything to do with wikileaks.

In other news it looks like 4chan got attacked.. This is like a cyber world war right now. Everyone is attacking each other
The attack apparently fucked with a few online Mastercard orders as well. But yes, when I said down, I was only talking about the website.
EDIT: http://paypal.com is currently being DDoS'd. http://www.paypal.com and https://www.paypal.com are still up. Looks like Operation Payback doesn't have the firepower to hit all the paypal servers at once. I'm kinda disappointed.

As long as you have enough active members who have nothing better to do, you can ddos almost any servers, large or small.
