Now that I've read it it seems that the powdercoater wasn't in fact much in the wrong at all. He made one error and they blew it out of proportion and tried to skin him alive. He made reparations but the wolfpack smelled blood and were going for the kill regardless.

That guys detective work is all stuff that is public. He wasn't dipping into any secret knowledge base out there.. sure it was funny but not as epic as they are making it sound.
