Shitty ordeal, but it does happen - this case was just documented.

Fuck facebook, its a joke how people let it run there lives.

This. Also, every time I'm on Facebook it seems like 90% of people's updates are absolutely useless. "I got my hair done today!," "at work," "I have so much homework to do!" - WHO GIVES A SHIT.

The husband's last post is sad, I think I'll have to let the next trivial little argument between me and my wife go.

When my baby girl was born 1 year ago my wife had to have an emergency epidural placed into her spine (spinal tap) followed by a c-section. The birth went fine, 12 hours later the doc's removed the needle in her spine and found that the spinal cord (durum/dura sp) had been punctured resulting in leakage of spinal fluid. A doctor could describe this better but I'll try. Your brain is floating in fluid the same fluid that is in your spine, spring a leak in your spine and you lose pressure in the whole system meaning your brain is not floating anymore but just sitting inside the skull. One year later she's fine but that was after 2 weeks in the hospital (paralyized some of the time) then 1 1/2month bedrest at home. For 2 months I cared for her our newborn girl and our 1yr old son but that doesn't come close to what she went though the uncertainty of not knowing if you'll move again and or die. If your reading this and still live at home go give your mom a hug...

That was kind of the point of the article - it's only recently that it's even become possible to share the whole process this way.

can someone summarize?Took me a while to figure out what to read too. I was initially looking for an article, not a bunch of FB posts.

Pregnant mom pops out a kid, suddenly feels week, gets transferred to hospital. They find out it's peripartum cardiomyopathy (weakening of the heart following pregnancy), and she dies. All within the span of some 2.5 months.

Very sad story. :(
