The reputable local ford dealer location bugs me. Why can't they put what city they're in or specify the specific dealership, i don't get it.

+1
I kept running into ads from them when I was looking for my G35.
If you're as reputable as you say you are.. then why hide your name/city
Does anyone else want to go here just to see a gt40 :)

The dealer is Dams Ford in Surrey.
I remember the show room when i was there for like 4 hours grinding the commercial truck sales for my truck haha

It's cause they're probably using those automatic listing services for craigslist, buysell, etc.
I guess someone checked off the box to not list the dealer name lol

The number showed at the ad is Ocean Park Ford.
I wonder if it has not been titled or what options it has in order to qualify such a high price?

Isn't that a Ford GT? Not "GT40" ... that's the race car I thought?

Yes, that's a red ford GT.
The Ford GT was made between 2005-2006.
40 years earlier, there was the Ford GT40 in the 1960s..
Somehow even this Ford dealership has problem with these names.

I was going to make the same point. So much for being a reputable dealer.

Yup i see it at OP ford whenever i'm driving by.
The owner of the dealership i guess drives it around every now and then (see it parked at the pub with dealer plates often) and also has one of those shelby gt500's (the new one). yum

Because the seller wants you to contact him directly. If they put the dealer name, and you want in without an appointment and buy it from someone else, he would not get anything for it, even though it was his ad that brought you in. I can understand the frustration of a prospective buyer, however if you have $200,000 to spend on a car, you are probably successful and intelligent enough to understand good basic protective sales practices.
Also, it's a Ford GT with 300km on it. There isn't much to talk about here. He doesn't need to make a huge detail oriented craigslist ad about it. If you are a legitimate GT buyer, you are already sold on the car and are looking for a qualifying example. There are only 2 or 3 options that you could have, anyways. These kind of cars are hard to sell because you need to wait for the right buyer to come along who a; has the money, and b; wants it so bad that they are willing to buy without a test drive.
Although, to be honest, $250,000 is on the high side. We sat on an '06 GT for 6 months, and we had to give it away at $185,000 to a doctor in Arkansas when the exchange rate was in his favour.. (I believe it ran him $125,000 usd)

And I wouldn't nit-pick about people calling it a GT40 instead of a GT.
It was supposed to be called the GT40 (just like the original) but Ford couldn't get the naming rights, and so just called it the GT for short.
When people refer to it simply as a "GT" it gets confused very easily with the Mustang GT.
Hence everyone's (every dealer's) tendancy to ad the 40 in there.

I understand that allowing anyone to test drive a car worth over $100,000 would require some degree of due diligence on the dealers part, but I'm surprised that a qualified buyer wouldn't be allowed to take it for a test drive.
I agree $250,000 is an extremely optimistic price on the dealers part, I can't see it selling for over $200,000 since its not that rare or a car.
