I think the movie is gong to be great because it's no long revolved about just racing cars, or being an undercover cop racing cars. They are trying to rob a bank (from trailer), this totally changes things cause now there is hopefully a PLOT in the movie.

and Eva is like "do you believe in ghosts" or something like that and it ends

some people left really early like @ the start of the closing scenes before the scenes where it showed what everyone is doing with their cash

The lack of more races was possibly due to the fact that they wanted to focus this specific film on plot/action compared to just pure racing. We've seen enough racing in the last 4 films and I assume they think the audience will know how it works. I guess this is sort of a "Semi-reboot" in terms of the FF franchise. They wanted to have a tiny bit more character development to help bring/push the next film/sequel.

This movie definitely took the series in a different direction.
More action, less cars. If I didn't know anything about Fast and Furious,
I would think this was just another action movie, and not a movie that focuses on cars.

Better plot than the other movies though.

And for those of you complaining that there wasn't enough racing, the producers/director have decided to transition this franchise into a heist action series (i.e. Oceans 11, The Italian Job). The audience for such a movie is much larger than those who are simply into the cars/racing.

So expect more of the same in the sequel!
