I noticed these guys first in the building's laundry room scurrying around and now I've seen one in my apartment. He is pretty fast on his feet. His head is facing towards the top of the picture so those long antenna are on his rear.
Any Idea on what it is?

u should keep it as a pet
they are harmless, we spotted some in our house randomly for a week or so, they die off really quickly just vacuum them up... I don't know if you can get an infestation of them because it didn't happen to us, don't know what its called though, however they look disgusting. lol.

Physically, it looks like a silverfish. They're mostly harmless, as they don't carry any diseases, but they eat starch, so the glue in bound books get nibbled on.

Snowy tree cricket!
:haha:
It's a type of Silverfish. Most houses have them but are rarely seen since they like to come out at night.

Dammit, I just had to google firebrat and saw more of those critters. The OP's picture looked much more tamed than the google images.

i only see silverfish in my wash room, i wonder what it eats in there.
my sister thought they were tiny eels
silver fish eats the bindings in books as stated before. they also eat the glue used in baseboards. clean em up as you see them before they grow in numbers.

Well thanks for the identification. They are hanging around my book shelves so I will be killing them with fire if I catch em - can't have em destroying my Michener collection or Haynes manuals.
