I wanted to see the 500 much more, it's a more of a piece of art than a train, yet it still runabout at 300kmh...
and the shikansen's success if highly due to dedicated purpose built track, don't know if that's going to work in the states... they will have to have a closed off track to be safe...

We need one of these to run along the pacific coast from Van -> Sea -> Portland -> SF -> LA then all the way back. One can dream.
