Hey RS,

Looking at trading 2 of my vehicles for 1 vehicle belonging to a private owner.

The question is, will ICBC let me trade the two vehicles for his one? (The combined value of my 2 vehicles is the same as his one vehicle btw, so no cash will exchange hands)

Cant seem to find the answer on their website... figured someone on here must have done this before.!!

Thanks
Jason

No, ICBC allows you to only trade ONE vehicle for ONE vehicle. You are NOT allowed to pay for a vehicle by whatever means you want. You can only do it the way they want.

Really bro?

So you don't need to pay taxes just gift both vehicles to him and get him to gift his to you.

ICBC should let you do this without having you pay any taxes. Just go to an insurance dealer and they'll handle it for you.

My autoplan agent recommended putting the trade for one vehcle straight for the other on a transfer form and doing a gift letter for the second vehicle.
