Dual Monitor

Hey
I'm just curious how many people here use Dual Monitors on their Desktop and what are their feedback. I'm debating right now, since the desk I just bought off Office Depot can't fit two monitors. I might return it and get a different one with a larger surface area.
I'm just wondering how much use do most of you get out of the second monitor?

im running a dual 23 inch monitors, i hav a corner/L shaped computer desk in my room
i used to do alot of multitasking for school paper and such but work has been easing up and im almost done school..
so now just for NOVELTY use, my main monitor is used for surfing the net while secondary is for msn (yes i keep the msn window and convo box on the 2nd monitor) and watching movies on it
its a little overwhelming running 2 23 inch monitors, i had a 19 inch non lcd monitor just 3 months ago and it gave up on me, since 20 - 23 inch prices have gone down so much i picked one up for $150 at ncix...

Running 2 x 22''. Never looked back since then. Depends on what kind of work you do. If all you do is surf the internet and check emails, then it seems pointless to get a dual setup.

If you like plagiarizing work, dual monitors are most efficient. :troll:
Running 24" main / 22" secondary. If you multitask alot then duel screens are awsome. Had duel screens at work and noticed how useful it was. I use my main for games / surfing while I use the secondary for just having my IM/chats/ another browsers.

^ Same setup. I use main for surfing, games and then secondary for torrents, folders, msn, all the system info widgets, weather and crap like that.
I find it very useful.
dual 21's
same thing as everyone else
1 for revscene/msn
other for movie/game

Same as above. Primary monitor are for videos, games, typing (because the 2209wa is my primary), whereas the secondary are for chat, email, watching videos at the same time playing games on my primary.
I probably didn't need a second monitor, but I do love it. :D
Im running dual monitors its pretty awesome i dont think i can go back to one monitor :p
Use it for watching two pornos at the same time ;)

i have a 24 inch main and a 46 inch tv secondary.
im planning on adding another 24 (or 32), and later on getting another bigger slimmer tv.
you can never run outta desktop space. I think I can settle for 4 screens hah.

LOL that's awesome!
Yeah, I'm thinking of getting a second monitor with HDMI connection and get my PS3 and TV out set up on it, so I can watch/game on either monitor.
I guess, I'm gonna return and get a bigger desk tomorrow.

Lol yep, same as everyone else. Browser on the left, msn/skype/folders etc on the right!

Haha, funny you should mention that. I got 2 26" monitors side by side. Like everyone else says, it's night and day difference and totally helps with productivity if you work at home. (I used one screen for a remote connection to a site, and the other for documentation, emails, etc) When I'm not working, I'll usually have a movie on one screen and browing, etc on the other.

I was running dual 24" monitor with a 40" tv for movies.
Having dual monitor is like perfect for running WoW bots lol, I have 2 bots running on the side screen with some internet browsing, at the same time playing modern warfare 2 window mode on my main screen. lol

So I'm taking suggestions for what monitor I should get.
I need something that is HDMI compatible, so I can hook up my PS3 to it. I don't care if it has speakers or not, since I got a good USB headset off Future Shop pre-boxing day sale.
Probably between the 22+, but under 30 inch range.

Been using this since last year as my primary / PS3 screen. 24" 1920x1080, 2HDMI, speakers, 4usb ports. Its pretty good for the price. The speakers aint that good though but I never use it.

How about 27"?
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX31412%28ME%29.aspx
I used to run Dual 20" for a couple years and recently upgraded to Dual 24" and like people have said, its night and day for doing anything from work to surfing and games ... at work I run Dual 22" as well ... It comes in handy as my 24" has HDMI inputs so I plug in my 360/PS3 on one screen and can play NHL11 while still surfing on the other (like I'm doing right now :))
EDIT: 1 thing to mention is if you can keep identical monitors for the same size monitors, as its easier to adjust colour and lighting plus it keeps resolutions the same on each side (obviously for different sizes its not possible but I'd still keep the same brand if its possible)
been using dual 23" for a few years now...and I could never go back to having a single monitor...absolutely no way in hell.
I like being able to surf the web and do whatever else while having my a movie/tv show running on the other screen.
I've recently been thinking about doing a 3 monitor setup so I can do a sick ass GT5 setup going hahaha (just dreaming...too crazy)

I have 2 24"s at work and find it too wide, almost want to go to 2x22", or wish I could get 4x3 monitors instead of 16:9. I find myself scanning back and forth with my head cause my eyes cannot see everything at once.
I don't have a dual monitor setup at home cause I don't see the point, there's little I do at home other than email and surf.

I have a love seat with a coffea table where I use the mouse and keyboard from about 90% of the time. Min. Viewing distance is only 8' so it's safe for my eyes.

Oh the tape is just the screen protector shit that comes on it from the factory that picture was literally days after futureshop delivered it; plus I leave that screen protector stuff on till it falls off just to keep everything in best possible condition; I'm anal like that!!!!

I run 4 21" monitors..looking to upgrade to 3 dell 30" u3011 when they become a bit cheaper.
4 Monitors is to much, 3 is the perfect number imo. If you have the space and money I think a Tri-Monitor setup is the best Multi-Monitor setup to have.

damnn, that looks pretty crazy, haha.
but yea, id prefer a 3 setup. since id like a main screen in the middle instead of the ends of 2 screens.
but 21'' is too small, im using a 21.5'' and a 19'' secondary on the side. id like something more like a 26'' monitor.

I wanna get dual monitors too, would be so damn useful for work in the very near future. Buying new screen also means buying a new desk, this damn corner desk doesn't have enough room. :fuuuuu:

I used the middle two for my surfing, the one on the right i use to monitor my bittorrent/newsgroups/itunes, and the one on the far left I usually use for whatever i need at the moment. But when I'm doing design work I usually just take up the far 3 for what ever program I'm using at the moment. Most of the time I have Photoshop open, as well as illustrator so that takes up most of the space and I'll have Chrome open on the far left monitor.
