: Questions about alt+tab during game?

My question is regarding Alt+tab or pressing the windows start menu key during game (HON) play.

My work computer is E8400 OC'd@3.6 Ghz with 2GB ram (win7 ultimate ed.) using onboard graphic.

Alt+TAB/start menu key== lag, frustratingly slow speed to go to my desktop, takes about a good 20-30 secs to jump into deskptop screen. (very bad to check email during game at work :D

My home computer is AMD 940 @ 3.0 with 4GB ram (win7 ultimate ed.) using onboard graphic

Alt+tab/start menu key = instant desktop , pops right into game without a lag, i can do this all day long without even a slow down. The results are the same with my older processor (FX62 @2.8GHZ)

Can someone explain why its so different?, My work computer is clocked way higher than home computer and has a better ram and motherboard.

Is this caused by the 2GB ram vs 4GB? no other programs run in the background by the way.

I need to fix this, so that i need to pretend i am working, i can change screen fast.
thx

Can HoN not be played in window'd mode?

window mode = instant alt tab

not really sure what would be the cause for extremely slow alt-tab, possibly the ram issue like you suggested. Driver maybe? you using the latest video drivers?

usually its in the video options of the game, same place as you'd change resolution/gfx quality.

I think it's the ram that's making the difference.

Had this problem before. Changing to window mode solved it for me.

Win 7 barely runs on 2GB of RAM with nothing open. Running a game will definitely use up all the RAM. That's why it takes forever to change.

I think it is the 2GB vs 4GB, because 2GB difference is huge.
