Franchinse operations I can see that, but for corporate mcdonalds (which I think the kerrisdale one is, correct me if I'm wrong), a coupon code will suffice offering the discount. And mcdonald is a company that's super customer service driven, they'll give out free food at the slightest complain from a customer. So asking them to honor a coupon from a smartphone for enviromental reasons should be a very easy request for them to fulfill.

But for franchise operations, if the franchisee requires the hard copy of the coupon to retain compensation from mcdonalds head office, then its a different story. In this case the owner is looking out for his own pocket before "customer service"

I don't think there is a McDonalds out there that doesn't accept the coupons. Well, maybe not that fricken cheap ass one on Knight and 54th?...... I hate that McD's.

On the back of your receipt, it says that you can receive a coupon for a free medium fries or side salad and medium soft drink with the purchase of a large sandwich by completing a survey at www.mcdonalds-survey.ca (http://www.mcdonalds-survey.ca). The only code you need is the restaurant number; everything else you can just make up! Then you'll end up with a coupon to print, but it has an expiry date roughly two weeks away. FYI - restaurant code for the McD's at UBC Village is 19170 ;)

I don't know about other burgers, but I know that buying a big mac (at regular price) and using this offer is cheaper than the "$4.74+tax for a meal" coupon (which isn't always available).

Mcdicks should do what A&W is doing with their coupons, you can each an A&W coupon up to 4 times, they have #'s by the corners of the A&W coupons so they can be marked off after usage.
