I have a black 1998 subaru impreza r.s. still registered in manitoba. It has 187,000km EJ20K (wrx) setup with EJ22T shortblock (closed deck), 2006 sti 6 speed transmission. power door locks, sunroof, alarm, needs tires. This car cannot be aircared because of OBDII requirement. However because it is an out of province car, you are exempt 1 year of aircare from transfer. Will also need a safety inspection, before registry. SOLD

I also have a green 1997 subaru impreza outback, with 200,000km air cared, has good winter tires, 2.2L, power door locks, power windows, has rust on both rear quarter panels. 5 speed. $1500firm

I'm somewhat interested, just need more information.

Who did the swap? How many miles are on the "new" engine? new tranny? How many miles since swap? Any CEL? Does everything work? Does it need anything (aside from tires)? Any accidents? Was it a complete swap (ie ecu/wiring harness/etc)?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. Just lots of things I'm sure other people would like to know also.

It spun a rod bearing 5-6k km ago, I had subaru frontier install the ej22t about 2 years ago. Doesn't have CEL right now. I am not to sure about the wiring harness, if they used an entire wire harness or if they spliced into the 2.5rs harness. Racing greed did the install, I have the receipt somewhere. yea theres been an accident from the previous owner, 4k i believe, this was 6 years ago.

I just had the coolant flushed. two front ball joints replaced. the 6 speed was installed last summer. also looks like the rear main seal maybe leaking. I have to add half a bottle of oil every 700km.
