I was thinking on upgrading my computer but don't know which motherboard I should get, I've heard mixed reviews about all three. Do you guys have any suggestions or comments? Which is better? Which is worst? Thanks!

can't go wrong with either one. I personally prefer Asus just because I have always been on Asus and the only time I had a MSI board it crapped out. No experience with Gigabyte but I did read plenty of good reviews on higher end boards from both MSI and Gigabyte.

i've never tried MSI boards but i feel the build quality for asus has gone down hill in the past few years

I would just go for whatever has the best bang for the buck with decent warranty

I always go with asus for high end stuff and gigabyte for more mainstream priced boards. Other than the S2F being garbage (more nvidia's fault than asus) always had good experience with their stuff.

Gigabyte has been terrible to me. Had several boards DOA, and then also die again later on.

i had an asus board.. it died..

ive owned 3 Gigabyte boards... never had a bad experience..
owned an DFI, not bad..

never owned an MSI product...

I've got a Gigabyte DS3 and I've done some pretty high overclocks (E6300 @3.5ghz+) and the mobo held up fine.

BIOS updates also came in a timely manner...and continued for a while even after a replacement came out.

ownd a DFI - I loved it, and I miss it

currently using gigabite - It's alright, it's a low model board so I don't expect anything crazy from it. However, nothing has gone wrong with it.

both boards run on AMD.


personally, I hate MSI. It doesn't matter what product it is. This is because I had a really bad experience with their video cards in the past.

Currently using Asus for my old core 2 rig, Gigabyte for my parent's new Phenom II. No problems with either of them. I think the three brands are reasonably reputable to go with any.
