Kitchen outlets should already have 220V present, if they're wired properly as "split" outlets. Not sure about the legality of simply bridging the two legs into one outlet, but it is TECHNICALLY possible. Would be a simple matter to make an "extension cord" that does the same job without modifying the in-wall wiring, too. How much current does this machine require??

I'm running a Nuevo Simonelli Premier Maxi 2 group. It's for a commercial business so I don't think that would pass code. 3000watts 14amps is the power draw. Anyone else?

if it is a split plug then what you need to do is take off the receptacal that is on there now... cap off the 2 neutrals. identify the 2 hot wires in the panel and hook them up to a 15 amp 2 pole breaker. then put in a new receptacal with a 240 volt rated receptacal T SLOT. and CLEARLY mark the voltage on the cover or such...

Maybe the panel is close enough to run a new line. That will be to code for sure.

Well I would say approximately 20ft to the panel. Wire could be run thru the T-bar ceiling any guess on the cost?
