Too many AYCE sushi threads, trying to find the sushi place that best bang for your buck. I know the usual Sushi Garden, Samurai Sushi, Sushi Town, but are there any others I'm missing that I should check out? I'm kinda sick of the service at these places., will usually just take out now. And if there is, let me know what really stands out for that place, thanks.

I think you're going to need to come up with some sort of baseline for quality.
Here's a good framework for you to help us narrow your search.
I filled in some of my favorites for value at each tier of quality.
Tiers by Quality
god tier ~ ???
top tier ~ ebisu broadway for their sunday - thursday specials
mid tier ~ happy sushi ayce
low tier ~ simply delicious sushi
shit tier ~ samurai sushi

Toratatsu in downtown on Denman. Can get a bit pricey, but pretty special/delicious items.
Torarenbo in Richmond. Traditional style sushi/robata stuff. FRESH sashimi and pretty good proportions. Their lunch bento sets are really good; <$10 which gets you terriyaki beef rice, salad, few pieces of sushi/sashimi, tempura. One of my favorites.
Another one in Richmond is called Takifugu on No. 3 road, across from MemoryExpress. They have one of the freshest sashimi out there. Went there once, but will definitely go back.
Manzo on Alexandra Road in Richmond is great as well. If you're looking for grilled Japanese food, this is the place to go. Don't bother going to the Manzo on Garden City though; that place is a huge rip off.

Oishi in Fraser Heights used to be great for cheap decent quality sushi.
The owners (and chefs) have since then opened another location in Coquitlam. I haven't been to their Fraser Heights location since, so I don't know if it's still the same.
Anyways, to answer the OP, my vote goes to Sushi King.
The quality is quite acceptable for the price, and service/takeout is extremely fast as well.
Two locations, one on Granville and 66th, just a few stores up from Red Star seafood/dimsum restaurant. The other one is in Kerrisdale. Both locations serve ridiculously sized rolls (and just about everything else, for that matter), and are really easy on the wallet. My friend and I (both with quite a large appetite) could stuff ourselves with $20~$30.
Van Ya in East Van
Fuji Sushi on Clarke Rd
Osamu on Barnet
Aki on Broadway

for bang for your buck, i'm still a fan of sushi house. decent sized portions and the fish has been fresh everytime i've gone. the only real issue i find is the half defrosted tako and sometimes tuna.

Guildford Sushi House (104 and 152 st, by the timmy's) is pretty cheap. Quality is alright, nothing special.
Akasaka, pricier but delicious. 151 st and 101 ave.
Tokachi. Good prices, great food. King George Hwy and 108 ave, by the shell gas station. yes, there is a sushi place in there, and it's my standard go to this side of the river.

Akasaka is overpriced. But their rolls are quite good.

I always go to guildford sushi house good for cheap decent nigiri and normal rolls. I used to go to Akasaka all the time but I was tired of having a $70 bill everytime and the nigiri pieces of tuna are very small for the price.
I find the best bang for your buck is sushi town in coquitlam, the sushi is great for a cheap price and the portions are massive. Not only that the spicy tuna sushimi is fricken money.

Sushi king w. boulevard (ONLY!) no complaints for service especially for dinner cause everyone just orders take out.
But beyond a doubt the best place to go after 9 is Matsuyama, nigiri is super cheap $1 or $0.89 IIRC, only problem is usually a bit of a line up, but I always walk out of their stuffed for about $15 a person. Much rather pay a little bit more to have decent sushi than go AYCE and we're talking about $2-3 more, and the environment is a lot more relaxed than AYCE IMO
Definitely going to hop on the skytrain and try sushi california soon

The nigri is $0.89, cones are $1.95, rolls are $2.95.

Sushi California as mentioned is cheap for the portions. Has a few cute Korean waitresses.
Super secret hole in the wall place : Yamato Sushi on Davie and Seymour, dt Van. Great portions for the price. Daily dt ritual when I lived there.
Super duper mega-classified secret hole in the wall place: Okonomi Sushi near Columbia skytrain. Place is always super dead, but the food is wicked and the portions are even BIGGER than Sushi California.

Charcoal, really?
I find Charcoal to be incredibly overpriced for both the quality and the quantity you get.
