So I'm planning an "Amazing Race" type of special event and need tasks to include in the race.

- This event would be held in downtown Vancouver in the summer season.
- Event would be an entire day kind of thing (~4-6 hours long)
- Tasks could include physical, mental, food, etc. type of challenges
- Would be mainly teenagers/adults participating, but having things children could accomplish would be awesome
- Include challenges that would require a sponsor; we wouldn't mind going out to ask places for sponsorship (ie. a challenge requiring teams to shuck oysters at Rodneys, or something)

If you guys think of any good ideas, post them here - they will be greatly appreciated.

I would have it at Stanley Park and make everyone walk or bike the seawall. At different points like 3rd beach or english bay, have mini games like on the tv show, but kids games. Balloon toss, egg and spoon race, and maybe a few brain twisters. :h5:

Probably have to stay away from the extreme stuff. I don't think you could scale a rock face in the park or climb a tree without getting in trouble. :nono:

I participated in two amazing race events that spanned from UBC to oakridge/downtown

Don't remember too much from it but heres what I do remember
-Best buy cambie, play a song on rock band
-Sephora PC, apply 4 different colours of makeup
-City hall, there was a statue pointing towards the Van city where one of the checkpoints was where we had to make a deposit into a charity account.
-Find the cummulative price of a few items at the stadium T&T and report to the station guy, if you get it wrong go in again etc.

Nah, not for city chase.

It's a charity event where ~12 teams (of 2) raise money to enter the race, complete the race, and then everybody gets together at the end for a cookout type-of-thing.

We had about 20 challenges last year split up in diff categories. Participants were almost all adults, with one team having a 12 year old girl racing.

Just brainstorming new challenges so we don't have to recycle last year's.

Go for a swim in english bay would be good as well. Maybe try on something sugestive in a sex store on davie as well and take a pic would add laughs too.

Make em goto a bowling ally give them 3 chances to get a strike if they can't do it make them get into a fat suit run down the track and knock em down that way or something.
