Hey guys, where's the best place for 308/308L and 309/309L welding rod in the lower mainland? Not looking for a whole bunch, maybe 1lb bags of it.

The tool place by Ikea has it. That's where we get ours from.

308 you can get in small quanities from KMS. 309 is hard to get in town in small quantities these days.

Mainland is owned by Airgas now and will only sell you 10lbs. Air liquide same deal. Barry Hamil in Coquitlam is a maybe...

Best bet for <10lb of 309L is Coast Welding Supply in Burnaby, or Western Gasco in Surrey IMO.

That said, IMO it's worth getting 309L over 308L if you can, it's a superior material in almost every application.

FYI I think Airgas people overall are more knowledgeable than KMS. Their location is here:
http://goo.gl/maps/ViP6 (If you are heading south, you take the Scott Road exit and loop underneath the bridge).

However after seeing one of them trying to loosen the cap of a 5ft gas tank with a huge hammer... some of them are competing for the Darwin awards.

Thanks guys, it turns out the place (western gasco) sells all the rod I need. (imagine that, a welding gas company selling welding rod, lol)
