I have a Netgear WNDR3700 - which has a pretty strong signal. Problem is, we just moved, and the router is on the top floor - because that's where all the inputs for the cable/telephone, etc comes into the house. Each of the floors have concrete, because of the radiant heating - so I'm having trouble accessing a decent signal in parts of the basement. I'm thinking of getting a repeater to extend the N wireless. I have Ethernet drops going into a few rooms in the basement - so I can easily wire one into there no problem - it'll go back directly into the router, or through a gigabit switch then into the router.
My question is, does anybody have any experience in this? I tried googling it, but most of the information I can find is quite a bit older, and I know new models have come out. I don't mind buying one and flashing DD-WRT onto it, but I'm not sure which models to look at. I see there are a few Wireless N Access points, but they're all around the $100 price range - anybody know any cheaper ones?
I appreciate any input!
