: neighbour with a shitty parking

Last week I started noticing a new car in the parking lot with half-assed parking - something akin to this:

http://bankshouse.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/bad-parking.jpg

At first it bugged me since it meant the next person over would be inconvenienced, but I thought "meh, live and let live it's not your problem, don't need to start anything it's not affecting you".

Today I come home and that shitty driver decided she would now park in MY spot :fuuuuu:. Talked to the building manager, he said he would ask the woman (surprise surprise) to move. The thing is, the manager told me that she knows she's assigned to the other space, so what does that mean? Bitch just decided to take my spot, just because.

I have a feeling this isn't the last time I'll have to deal with her, she doesn't seem to have much regard for anyone else. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do in my next run in with her? Unfortunately I don't know her unit number so I can't just walk up and ream her out.

Next time it happens, simply leave a note on her car saying she's parked in your spot and to please not do it again... otherwise you'll have her car towed.

Anything more and you'll simply create a giant headache for yourself.

edit: Although removing valve stems are always fun... :lol

Call a black guy to tow her car. He might even do it for free!

Will there be any issues with strata if I towed this person?

Soundy

That depends on your strata. Ask someone who's on council, or the strata president.

Best to check the fine print from your strata regarding parking spots and violations.

You could always park behind her, blocking her in... then leave a note saying, "You're in my parking space. If you want to get out, come knock on my door and ask nicely."

Although the OP may handle it like a gentleman and a scholar, as you suggested, the woman may decide to handle it like a stupid ho by wrecking the OP's car.

When some dude parked in my spot here, I left him a polite note. Never parked again.

Polite note.

Then knock on her door.

Then... Let your imagination run wild.

this will only work if the ebrake is off or its a rear wheel drive..but get a car jack that has wheels.. go and lift up the front end and move her car into the middle of the lot, then park in your spot..
chances are she will get towed.

sure it is but why create all the hassle and the headache for yourself? go through strata and usually that solves the problem.

As tempting it would be to fuck her car up the best approach is to always be civil about it first especially since we're talking about an issue where you live. The last thing you need is some war to break out. Leave a note then go from there.

some interesting ideas lol. Since the building manager has talked to her I'll leave it this time, if it happens again, I'll leave a note... and then if it keeps happening I'll know she's just doing it on purpose and will act accordingly.

Tomorrow I'll call into strata and ask about towing/violations.

Thanks

Talk to your building manager everytime this happens. I think she gets fined if this keeps happening. And if she still does it they might even force her to move. At least that's the rule at the apartment I used to own. O and call building manager even at night to annoy them so in turn they get piss off at the person who is doing it.

^^ Well you cone kindly let the building manager know if people follow the rules then you wouldn't need to call them time after time after time after time.........

Is like if she only park his spot once, then fine but if she keeps doing it then is an issue and is against the starta law and the building manger are there to fix it.

What if I come home at 3am and fine some guy part at my spot so now I can't park anywhere? I would be pretty damma piss about it.

lol she cant handle the walk from the spot they assigned her, so she parks somewhere closer because shes a princess

you can only complain to strata to have the car impounded. just keep bitching until the car gets towed.

If you really wanna be a nice guy, you can just ask her to trade parking spots, where nice guys finish last.

All kidding aside... a friend of mine recently went through something similar. It was an ongoing problem for several months, this one woman who was not only constantly parking in other people's spaces, but also had her daughter and her daughter's bf parking in other people's spaces, despite there being visitor parking AND street parking. All of them had been towed at one time or another, she was even parking in my friend's space and using her plug-in (this is in Alberta, where every parking space has a block-heater plug, controlled by and billed to the driver's apartment). Her FB status was great for following the saga :D

Eventually it came out that the daughter AND her bf and even, I think, the bf's sister, were all living there, which violated her tenancy agreement, and they were kicking them all out...

I had a neighbour who would constantly park over the line into my spot. Everytime it happened i would take a picture and email it to the property manager. Since it happened so often they eventually started sending fines to the owner.

A car was parked in my stall in my building last week. I found him and asked him to move his car but I know how you feel when someone parks in your stall. !@#$ asshole.

Anyways, leave a note and hope she doesn't do it again. If you fuck up her shit, she can do the same to yours since she knows where you park.

However, is she keeps parking in your stall, have it towed. You have a right to have her car towed but she can't tow you if you're in your own spot.

+1 for polite note and maybe write down what space she is supposed to park in. For all you know, she's parking in people's spots because she thinks it's first come first serve - in my c-op that's how it works

Checked at noon, her car was gone so I just parked back in my spot. Didn't look like there was any problems, all my stuff in the spot was the way I left it and my car seems ok as well.

@ all the pranks - lol they're great but not for such a small lot, it would look suspicious. The most I could do is box her in but it's a small garage so it actually blocks other people from coming and going. They are great idea's though it this keeps happening... also I'm sure I'll bump into her eventually and find out where she lives.

I'm pretty sure all buildings are the same. If someone is in your spot you can tow them. I mean, where are you supposed to park? The car is parked illegally in your spot and you have the right to tow it.

I'd just tow it next time. since this chick seems like she's parking anywhere and anyhow she feels like.

+1 to this. Usually you have to pay for your parking spot if your in a town house / co-op. If you paid for it its basically your property and you have the right to tow it

Fuck, i wouldn't wana live or mess with some people here on Revscene! Or maybe, its just alot of tough talk from alot of people. I'd personally just leave my dignity in place and just write her a polite note. Wouldn't it be great if you put grease on her brake rotors and she got into a bad accident... bad plan. Use your head, and think about the big picture before making a stupid decision. At the end of the day its just a parking spot, and who cares how she parks as long as she isn't bothering you.

While I agree that a note -> tow should suffice, she parked in his spot so he cares a lot.
