So I'm on Telus, and I have their shitass 2wire gateway/router. I've already given my WRT54G to my girlfriend, so I'm routerless without this thing. I am now facing problems setting up a network with two Win7 machines (supposedly "easy", right?).
I have them both set up for the proper homegroup, and have all the settings right for sharing and everything else. They are both wired directly into the router (so no wireless bullshit). When it comes time to actually view the folder on the network, it says "Windows cannot access //xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" and gives an error number of 0x80070035
I checked on The Great Google, and it says it's a firewall conflict. Unfortunately, the 2wire firewall says it cannot be disabled unless put in "bridge mode" which (in my admittedly brief scanning) means all routing is disabled and it functions only as a modem and will not do any firewalling.
I need to network these two computers, and it's driving me fucking crazy! I hate this telus bullshit. Can anyone help me, or do I have to go back to Telus and get them to credit me a month's bills so I can get a new WRT54G?
