Just wondering what docking radio/stereo/clock station everyone is using.

I was thinking about maybe picking up a cheap ihome dock, but thought maybe it'd be worth it to buy something with a bit more bass.

orginally was this:

but was looking and the logitech one is looking pretty nice as well.

suggestions/recommendations? or any specific ones you have used that you love.

I'm using the Logitech one cause its got pretty good playback. Since my iphone is my alarm, don't need the alarm function and spent the money on audio playback.

If you just want to use it for music playback I would just pick up a pair of powered speakers.

if you want good quality, loud and full sound then you will have to spend quite a bit more. if you dont want to then simply get a pair of powered speakers, even computer speakers will fit the bill. here are my favorites...

1. harman kardon go+play (not the crappy micro version)
- amazing sound, great price at costco right now $220 (reg $400), portable when used with D cell batteries
2. monster beats by dre beatbox
- great sound but not portable, also ipod stands up without backing, can be pushed backwards and possibly break the connector pins off of the beatbox itself
3. bose sounddock portable
- good sound, built in lithium ion battery, super convenient
4. bose sounddock 10
- awesome sound, not portable, expensive!!!

If you have the opportunity to demo the harman kardon go+play make sure you do. It sounds amazing and fills a large room or is good outdoors for a BBQ or party. IMHO it sounds way better than the low (fixed) and mid range (portable) Bose docks. The beatbox and the Bose 10 are a bit better but they lack portability. The only downside to the go+play is that it uses D cell batteries instead of lithium ion, and it's hard to find here as harman kardon has released a slightly smaller (and not as good) Micro version.

The bose ones are great but they don't have any features. I have a jbl on time alarm clock which is probably the best alarm clock I've used and fills a small room with sound reasonably well. The one I'm using right now is the Pioneer nac-3 which has bluetooth that's awesome for use with my laptop but also works great with iphones etc. You'll probably want one that doesn't have interference like crazy when you plug in an iphone which is what most of the newer ones are.

The problem i have experienced with both my nac-3 and the sounddock is that at low volumes you really don't get much sound out of it, of course when you're blasting it at a party they do sound great but when I'm listening to some music or podcasts before I sleep it's hard to get the volume quite right
