most places for lunch and late night are under 15 pre tax+tip
tomokazu - west broadway
kingsway sushi - kingsway+boundary
richmond sushi - capstan way
shabusen? - granville or burrard
fish on rice - wbroadway or kingsway
Late night:
BC Sushi - Broadway and Arbutus
Ninkazu - by Aberdeen (in fact, right between Aberdeen and Parker Place)
I don't think that Shabusen has late night so you might be hooped on that one. It is something like $23/person for dinner but $13/person for lunch.
As for Fish on rice, they have a happy hour between 4:30-6PM and it is $14/person. For lunch is is $12/person and I don't think they have a late night either.

Lunch / Happy Hour / Late night: Yes...there's lots out there.
But as far as under $15 for dinner goes... I don't think there's any.

Is Happy Sushi in Richmond related to the one in Vancouver on Victoria drive?
But once again, < $15 would only be available if you're doing lunch at Happy Sushi...

I highly recommend matsuyama if you're planning to go with a few friends for late night, works out to still be around $15 (sub 20 for sure) and I personally like their food a lot better than any late night AYCE place I've been to. Ninkazu also has ayce hotpot for $3 extra IIRC so if that sounds interesting give that a try. There is sui sha ya which and another place at metro by chq/over drive forgot the name, they are all mediocre...

Ninkazu gets my vote, as CRS mentioned it's right in between Parker Place and Aberdeen. In the same square where Spring Tea is located.
It's $16 with tax and tip for late night. Food is definitely amazing, always hits the spot.
Servers don't always seem very happy, but I don't blame them, they're always really busy.
And even one time I ordered way too much, I offered to pay for the food I wasted, but they told me not to worry about it, as it happens. Left them a huge tip at the end.

The drinks are the only things good about that place man. The food there is disgusting! I highly reccommend not going there. I remember my friend found some nasty thing similar to that nasty cheeto in his cone man. He also got bitched at for not tipping. You should stop going to that place.
And I usually go to tomokazu or toyama (at seymour street) for sushi.. and they're alright.

It really depends how you look at it. To some, the drinks might be an appealing / selling point. While to others... the pop and stuff basically just fill you up, and make you eat less of their sushi.

The 2 or 3 times I've been to tomokazu, I've had less that subpar service. Fuck, I'll be more blunt, we got no service AND we got attitude from the servers.
We ask the guy for some more tea and water, and he just ignores and keeps talking with his co-worker. I asked him again, and he tells me "just a minute" as he resumes his conversation. By then we ask another server, and yet after 10 minutes, still nothing. We were pissed off. We are not going back there.
However, Ninkazu service is a bit better. At least we get some service, despite needing some reminders, but at least we weren't blown off for a conversation WHILE working.

Richmond Sushi is indeed a joke. One of the worst ACYE there is. The dinner menu is not much better than the late night menu. Also, the quality of the food is very low compared to other ACYES. It seems like they have trusting issues.. They made my friends and I(group of 8-10ppl?) pay first before we ate..

Just tried toyama for the first time friday night, food doesn't come as fast as ninkazu/tomokazu, in fact it was quite slow and service was bad, had to ask several times for water/tea refill. They have pretty decent selection though but the toro we ordered was frozen :/ Had tomokazu last night funny enough and it was way better imo even though the food is more generic

The last time i paid the place a visit, one of their waiters spilled udon soup all over my friend's head, after some complaining, his meal was free of charge, and our bellies were filled with the waiter's spit. I dont think i'll ever go back.

Fish on Rice is disgusting.
Never mind the service and the cleanliness of the place.
In my honest opinion, there aren't any places where you can get cheap & all you can eat sushi...and expect it to be good.
On the other hand, there are many sushi joints where you can stuff your face for $15--just less variety.

To be fair, Fish on Rice on Broadway isn't bad. I've been there 3 times and all 3 times, it was a good experience.
Fish on Rice on Kingsway, however, is utterly disgusting.

+1 for E Bei!
Their AYCE lunch price is from 11am-4:30pm and their late night prices start from 9:30pm-midnight.
E Bei > Fish on Rice/B.C. Sushi/Richmond Sushi
My only complaint though is that their rice are usually sub-par. Other than that, everything else is pretty stellar and delishh.

I'd say BC sushi is one of the worst places I've been to, and this wasn't just a single instance. Also I'm not even talking about late night. They cut half our orders, we keep inquiring and we never get the items. Also the food isn't all that great either. A lot of the fried or BBQ stuff came out lukewarm.

Try Il Uk Jo on Fraser Hwy and 152nd st. They have lunch and late night for $13.95 per person.
Also Iron Grill on Fraser Hwy and Venture Way/159 st. Same plaza as Boston Pizza and IGA. Never tried it but they have all day ayce for $12.99/person. It was Insomia Bubble Tea which closed down after Bubble World opened a location in Surrey.

come on guys. They're businesses and need to make money too. Especially since we're talking about under $15 don't expect the sushi to come out Chef Tojo quality. One thing I recommend you guys do is if you do decide to get a bulk order in, it would be a good idea to order the majority of it at once. This stops the delay that happens in between orders since they have less of an excuse to give you less.
To be honest, I think BC sushi isn't all that bad. Unlimited sashimi and late night sushi, can't go wrong with that.

I used to go there regularly, it used to be pretty good, but they have some serious food handling safety issues. They had an entire tray of cooked chicken teriyaki uncovered and sitting at the kitchen entrance right outside the washrooms. I've only gone back there once since they "renovated" and it was crap.
