i just moved into a new house and i need to get a wireless network adapter since its too far to run a hardline from the desktop to the router.

is there a difference in whether the adapter is pci-e or usb. im assuming the pci-e is much quicker. ive checked ncix, and cant decide on one. can someone recommend me one under $50 thats fast

technically, USB 2.0 wireless N cards should be equal in speed to an internal card. I've never tried it to see, but usb 2.0 is 480mbps and wireless n is 300mbps. Although looking at the ncix site alot of the usb wireless N cards are 150mbps.

New house should have excellent electrical wiring. Go for a D-Link powerline.

agreed i would use the pci-e over the usb anyday.

if you go with the usb, make sure it has the extension and doesnt just plug into the back of the tower, otherwise, might as well get the pci one...
