Anyone know where you can sell a salvaged vehicle?

Unfortunately, someone I know got in a car accident and it is their fault.

But they don't want to repair their car and instead would prefer to sell it as it is.

Are there any good places that purchase salvaged vehicles? (car is not completely broken, but it's leaking coolant and overheating, as well as a decent amount of structural damage to the driver side front headlight)

What kind of car is it and how much do you think it appx. worth?

If its a complete POS there's the Canada Recycle Your Ride Program.
Depending if you want cash ($300) / buy new car / buy new bike / buy bus passes you get incentives anywhere from $200 to $2000.

I believe it's a 2000 Chevy Impala

It still turns on, it's just that it overheats (leaking coolant) within a couple minutes.

I'll take a look at program.

On another note, does anyone know of a good shop that can check/repair this car? Also how much they charge to give a quote on the repairs would be nice.

The car must be in drivable condition. If the car has any visible indication of an accident and not fully repaired, I think it would not be eligible. But if he can turn the wreck car into cash, that would be great.

If they didn't go thru insurance, the car should still have a clean title and be repairable.

Dealer won't give you more than 100 bucks for if after they confirm they can fix it.

those impalas go for about 2500-3000 if they are in good shape. You will have a hard time to sell this car to any body man or "salvage shop" as it has overheated. Most body men don't want to buy a car, do body and structural work to a $2500 car just to find out that it needs more engine work that will cut into their profit. Your best bet it to part it out the best you can (doors $50 trunk $50 interior $200 transmission $300 etc) then sell the shell to metal recyclers. You may be able to get $1500 max this way.
