Hi, I'm moving into a place with a really ugly laminate counter top where the previous owners (idiots) decided to paint over it with latex paint which is now half chipped off.

I'm leaning towards covering it with some sort of coating to make it look nice rather than replacing it entirely. I use some sort of paint or try to go concrete.

Video below looks really cool.

Has anyone had good results with either paint or concrete resurfacing?

Also planning to paint over laminate cabinets in the distant future aswell.

You can't just refinish with concrete, it's going to crack and chip. Concrete countertops can be nice, but you have to know what you are doing. And who paints over laminate, that is so ghetto.

This product seems not bad.

I'm just considering coating the existing counter top, so I don't have to throw away the existing one.

Seriously, look at how much work you have to do! are you going to seal off everything with plastic like they did? What's the cost of all the materials?

If it's just a small area, like a condo, you can get a whole new engineered stone or cheap granite installed in 1 day at a cost of under 1k with no mess.

I work for a company that does stone counter tops.
shoot me an email with your layout and let me quote it for you before you do anything else. then you'll know which is the better option for you.
