Anyone have any experience with these Sony MDR-RF970RK headphones? I was at the Sony Store today and tested them out and they were awesome. Well to me, they were awesome since I've never purchased headphones before. Considering to buy these.

Those suck in terms of Wireless sound quality, but they are super comfortable. I owned it for a few days and returned it. I couldn't stand the crappy interference, it was so bad that i can tune it and listen to my home phone's conversations (cordless phone). LOL Sorta like spying.

I use the Sony in-ear noise-cancelling buds, and they are fantastic. Don't know about these though

Do you really need a wireless system? I would try and opt for a wired/corded system for quality and noise canceling capabilities.

Even the 200-300 dollar wireless headphone systems have Sub-par sound quality. They are better than the Sony you posted but they still aren't that great. They use the same frequencies as cordless phones, so interference and walls will be your enemy.

For the same amount of money you spend on a decent wireless system, you're better off spending it on a corded interface. It will provide excellent sound quality and could/will be better on the wallet too.

I don't think those headphones actually have noise-cancellation. It's being advertised as "noise reduction," but I see no sign of the word "active." They just seem like ordinary closed, albeit wireless, headphones.

If you end up going corded, check out the Creative Aurvana Live!, Denon D1001, Shure SRH440. If you really want isolation, though, get some IEMs.

For that price, you could get S4s by Klipsch. The noise-isolation is actually pretty darn good for IEMS.

^Sorry, around the $100 price range, they're good compared to other in ears like the ibeats, etc, but really you just need good ear-tips. Not much of an audiophile.

NCIX has the Sennheiser hd555 for less than $100 a while ago if I remember right. Shure SRH440 is not bad too. At this price range, you won't find anything that good. Why not save a little bit more?

M-Audio ATH-M50, hands down best bang for your buck.
