: Hong Kong Pre-Paid

since i cannot unlock my iphone 4 to bring to HK...does anyone know how blackberry data works? or if it works on HK prepaid?

or am i screwed and will have to revert to iphone 2g?

sadly there's no pay as you go data plans even if there is if u wanna use your berry got to call your provider to release the pin (which is a pain)

Prepaid (pay as you go) data plans exist. Just that I'm not sure how it works with Blackberry's, as OP wanted to ask.

pay as you go data WILL NOT WORK WITH BIS service

3g works on a different frequency in HK. You'll get Edge if you use your Canadian phone

That's no problem, using my iPhone 2g there. Not able to unlock my iPhone 4 to use

I am going back to HK for a month in May as well, but travelling around Asia..

When I go back, I always used Peoples pp card. $0.25/min for local AND international calls (to NA, China, and somewhere else)

Does anybody know if they offer pp data as well? I don't want to do my research if someone here knows.

My iPhone4 is unlocked.

there is prepaid data sim.. but it WILL NOT work on BIS OR BES.....

i got some cheap data sim card if you guys wanna get :)

btw i am located in hk..

Prepaid data sim can be fitted in iPhone 4 as well ..... and is cheap too :)

Blackberry server so you can get access to your pin and use BBM and such.

Prepaid Data for unlocked iphones & other smartphones isn't a problem. Berry's I've heard exists but I have yet to find & trust me when I say I have asked almost every provider here.

Stick with the 3g iphone, try 3 or Smartone, last time I checked Peoples didn't have a prepaid for iPhone4

which bands do the iphone4 use? this is probably true for certain phones. other than the cdma ip4, i think the gsm ip4's are all identical, since so many ppl still bring them back for a profit.

iphone4 uses 850/900/1900/2100 for 3G network. HK uses 2100 only. Any unlocked iphone here can be used in HK. The only difference between Roger's 3G network and HK's 3G network is that Rogers like to use 850 as well.

So does 3 network is the only one?

I have a t-Mobile Nexus S which has the 2100 band, should work yah?
