Hey guys,
Just wanted to ask where I can get a 13.2v custom NiHH battery pack made? The old batteries in my Niterider mountain bike lights have finally called it quits after 5 years. I was able to rip the batteries out of the pack and it's made up of 11 - 4/3 sized 1.2v NiMH batteries. If anyone has advice on where to get a new pack made for an honest price that would be great! Thanks. :D

Can you solder? Why not make your own pack. When your done just spray on rubber?

I'd rather have everything spot soldered as my current battery pack is. It's a nice clean install. Knowing me I'd keep the regular gun on the battery too long and fry it. LOL

Soldering batteries needs minimum 80 watt soldering gun. High heat and quick so the battery does not soak up too much heat.
Try brunette battery, I believe they do custom packs.

Polar Batteries on Boundary. They have a little shop that does battery repairs including battery packs for rechargeable hand tools and laptops.

It's not spot soldering, it's spot welding.
Last time I got batteries from Battery World near Boundary and 1st. I got individual cells and they spot welded tabs on them for me. I would assume they could do the same for packs as well, but why not get a ready-made pack? Going to be much cheaper than having one made.

Thanks guys. Got it all done at Polar Battery. The good thing about paying someone to do it...I can get it fixed anytime if something was poor quality within the year. If the batteries decide to have issues I can also get them replaced without dealing with shipping and crap.... It's probably a bit different if your needs are of a high quantity of batteries/packs.

Funny that you mention that I tore old NR battery pack apart a few days ago realized it wasn't worth it as the HID bulb could go next. I'm going LED now.

haha...yeah. Well all the quality HID bulbs that have been in our cars have lasted 8 years. I don't use my HID as much as a car so I am betting that this bulb will outlast this new rebuilt battery. I also have that super bright tail light that connects to the system so if I bought an LED setup I'd spend a lot more for something as quality built as Niterider. I've seen the MagicShine LED's that are supposedly the same brightness if not brighter than my HID but they've been having battery quality issues. I think I'll wait another battery pack for LED to mature. Maybe I can mod my Niterider HID's 3 LEDs that are beneath the HID lamp.
