There's a Japanese bookstore at 2nd floor of Yaohan closing down. Today's the last day apparently and my bro helped me pick up some stuff. Drop by before they close! However there may not be a lot of stuff left. So if you live far then don't bother.

My bro picked these up for me

Came to total of $24

Was it planned or because of the tragedy in Japan?

My bro said things are up to 70% off. I think these were about 40%? Someone shed some light lol

I don't think it was planned, they announced that they were gonna close down before and I did wanna go snatch some stuff up but forgot about it. My bro said it's last day today however really not many choices there. So I'm not gonna go down there myself lol

I posted this on Hobbies thread.

Iwase was planning on closing its doors weeks go. The sale started two Fridays ago. Gundam models were 50% off. They had a small selection, but a very good ones. Many Perfect Grade.

I picked up a few shogi game boards and stationery at 70% off. By the time I got there, most of the stuff was gone. Used JPop Cd's for $1 each. I'm not into that stuff.

Iwase has stores in LA and a few other locations. Nothing to do with the Earthquake.

Nothing left. The models sold out in a few hours. It's Richmond. News of a sale travels faster than a speeding bullet.............

Actually, quite a few items were not on sale when I went there on Thursday. I assume they are too expensive. They do have other locations they can move the leftover items to. Models and magazines aren't worth the freight, I guess. Anyway, if you go now, you may be disappointed. Unless......... they decided to put more items on sale. In which case, go for it.

Someone in Richmond should do some scouting for RS, instead of chilling out at a bubble tea house. LOLOLOLOL.

I went last week and there were no models or stationary left other than a few pens (weird colours like brown and yellow). Most of the new magazines were gone, and most of the books were not on sale.

All the stationery were 70% off.

Nice selection of cool gel pens and the like. Japanese to English electronic dictionaries were on sale for 30% off. Lots of Naruto stuff, but they're probably gone by now, too.

I just noticed many people spelling stationery, stationary........... I looked it up, in case I was either wrong or it was some American vs British Spelling thing.

Ah, the things you learn on RS.

that's OK, I spell disappointed wrong all the time.

EDIT: is spell checker an option possible on RS? ..............for those who care, that is.
