: where can I find deep friend mars bars and good BBQ??

not necessarily in the same place, just anywhere. I used to go to Dix BBQ downtown (wasn't the greatest, but it sufficed), but it closed down and I want to try a new BBQ place. Went to this place gastown that had "Carolina style BBQ" tonight, but was full. So how are some places like Memphis Blue(?). Preferably in the Vancouver/burnaby area, but will venture out to surrey or risk life and limb to go to Richmond, if it's deemed worthy.

Secondly: where can I find a good deep fried Mars Bars??? I love those things, and I've only ever found one at the Mountain Shadow Pub in BBY, but that's in the middle of bum-fuck-nowhere. So any help is appreciated, thanks!

Can't answer your BBQ question but don't go the Memphis Blues because it sucks.

I heard the bbq truck/cart outside VAG is supposed to be the best we've got in the city, but i've never gone.

i think Belgian fries on commercial has some deep fried chocolate bar. not sure if its specifically mars bar

After watching Man vs Food last night, I was craving southern style BBQ and hit up a place called Hogshack Cook house at Steveston yesterday.

Place is ok, tastes alright, but the meat can be cooked a bit better. I'll stick to Memphis Blues next time.

the little mexican cantina in steveston does deep fried mars bars...they're amazing!

I've been to hog shack a couple times now. Food is decent and I like the microbrews. But service is really slow...

Memphis Blues ribs are great*, not sure where the hate is from. Maybe their other stuff isn't as good, but stick with ribs and you won't be disappointed.

*at least they were when I tried them last a few years ago

went to Fogg'n Suds on Robson for fishbowls and they had deep fried mars bar with ice cream there.
