Hey guys,

I'm looking through a lot of different posts/websites but can't seem to find a concrete answer. I hear/read that the GTX 260 video card requires a 500w PSU or higher, now after I get over the 500W point, what else am I looking for? I think it requires 36 Amps on the +12v rail as well. Not sure what else.

Anyone have any recommendations on PSU that I get that will work with the GTX 260?

Also, anyone know if the video card will work on a P5KPL-VM motherboard with a core duo CPU (E5200) @ 2.50 GHz. Running Windows 7 32 bit.

Individually, 260 should take around 250 Watts at load. What's your computer specs? And particularly which GTX 260?

And yes the video card will work with that setup.

EVGA GeForce GTX 260 896MB DDR3 and will come back with specs. And yes, I'm looking only to go solo and not doing any SLI or crossfire or combining multiple vid cards.

Only looking to get this in and working on comp to play SCII in high setting.

Try for a psu that's at least bronze+. Also look for
one that's at around 70-80% load when your pc is maxxed.
That is when the power supply is most efficient. Also look
for a modular one.

Have a Pentium Dual Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50 GHz.

I suspect there will be bottlenecking due to CPU, right?

I'd recommend the OCZ FATAL1TY as well but up to you if you wanna go with the rebate. Never had any problems with the NCIX MIRs (OCZ, Corsair, Mushkin, EVGA, XFX, etc).

Depending on your resolution, CPU might not bottleneck the GPU. But you also have an option of OCing your CPU with your new PSU.
