Somebody help me out here, but isn't investing in transportation infrastructure a little out of their jurisdiction?
Within City Limits = municipal.
Outside City limits = provincial.
Transportation standards = federal
they should be investing more than that back to the community every year

Yea City is probably running the traffic calming project but ICBC might be contributing $$ for it.

What they need to do is repave kingsway.
It's a roller coaster everytime I go over Rupert or turning on to it.

YES LOL. its right when you're turning left too super bumpy there. Then again, you can always turn left towards Dairy Queen and Cheveron and go from there haha =X

yep turning left anywhere on rupert and kingsway honestly..you don't even have traction to stop or turn properly at any speed what so ever, car jumps up and down when you touch the brakes your tires are barely contacting the road lol

They are still sneaky fucks. Seems like a smart investment on their part though, invest some money to help make roads safer so there are less accidents to pay for. Even if it does cost more than they expect 18 million is just a fraction of their 24.5 billion(2009 profit). Seriously how many companys are making money off of pretty much everyone in an enitre province? They better not invest too much though, they wont ever put themselves out of work but they could really cut into their profit.

The bumpiness of the road forces you to slow down, hence calming the traffic... :troll:

That's why you give your suspension a good exercise by going straight through at speed limit:fullofwin:
Try going Eastbound on Kingsway, passing Rupert, on either the left of middle lane going 20 to 30km/h, then tell me how does your stomach feel after :troll:

it may seem like "nothing" and I understand its not much in the big picture, but that 9 million will be greatly appriciated by the workers who build such projects. As much as I dont like what ICBC is doing, Ill gladly accept their money and build the roads

Kingsway and Victoria is pretty bad..
At this given moment, Eastbound Kingsway going past Nanaimo is the worst.
Especially in the far left lane.
There's a huge dip that Vancouver keeps fucking up.
Every time they patch it up, they do a sloppy job on it
Shit breaks like every couple of days.

Their improvements include speed measures (eg speed bumps) which cut down on the amount of damage in a collision since the speed is lower. Intersection improvements which cut down on accidents etc.
I don't think it has anything to do with jurisdiction. They are a corporation, they don't have jurisdiction in anything. It is within their mandate to reduce try to reduce accidents, hence in theory reduce payouts.. and hopefully reduce fees.
Honestly people who complain about high fees should try moving out of BC and go to any equivalently urbanized area.. eg Sydney, Seattle etc. For the same level of coverage, you will pay significantly more.
Somebody help me out here, but isn't investing in transportation infrastructure a little out of their jurisdiction?

9 Million... So like... 40km of roads? Who's in construction haha.
ummmm 40km of highway is worth roughly $658 million.
http://www2.news.gov.bc.ca/news_releases_2009-2013/2010TRAN0051-000943.htm
Unless your talking about repairs only and not new highway, then maybe that 9 million would go further
