Just picked this car up
http://wilchan.com/sblog/images/tsx_1.jpg
I know it's illegal to have the front windows tinted ... from experience!!
What do you guys think of just doing the back? And what level of tint?
If any of u have pics of a white tsx or any white sedan car with just the back tinted it would help.
Thanks,
c

off the top of my head, i think it was 55% tint that was the legal maximum

rear windows can be as dark as you like, you can spray paint the black if you want.
front has to be 100% transparent to be legal other than the stock oem tint (the light blu-ish tint you see on Benz etc)

20% it will look sweet. But dark at night.. Sometimes when I have my friends in the back at night I can barely see their face.. But its really up to your preference.

Come to our tsx meet, april 16 7pm in richmond, atleast 2 white tsx will be there..
15% is what me and my friend did (I drive an accord)

5% is limo tint go with 15%
35% or 30% if that's an option. Personally I don't like the huge contrast of really dark tint in the back and nothing on the front.

it'll look stupid with just the back tinted - like an SUV

That's what im contemplating. I've gotten a ticket for this in the past and don't want to tint the front for this reason.
Any pics?

oops I guess my numbers were way off looking at the fails LOL
havent been in the tint shop for 4 years so I was pulling what hazy memories I had of percentages.
but last I was in, I know you cant total black out the rears unless the laws have changed since then.

You can tint all the back windows whatever you like. Just the front passenger/driver and windshield have to be transparent.

So you only have 15% tint on the rear windows and nothing on the front?
The first pics looks like even the front is tinted.
Nice car btw.

If the interior is black, you only need 15% for the rear windows. The only time you'll notice the front's not tinted is when you you look straight from the side.

35% all around looks really nice to me & classy.. i personally dont like super dark tint
but seems like police are getting more strict about the tint these days from my experience and even from all my friends

I went 25% rears. I felt like I should did more though, maybe 15% or 10%.
Visibility in the dark isnt that bad. Cars around you have headlights anyways.
Didnt bother with the fronts, didnt want the hassle.

i've got 35 rear 50 front that way it doesn't look so odd with only the back tint
the way i see it, either tint all, or don't tint it at all to keep the clean look

lol, my 50% fronts only lasted 2 weeks i was so choked, while my 35% lasted me over a year...
I'd go with like a 40 on front and back. I think it looks dumb if you got the back tinted and the front not. Or the front less than the back. Just do it all the same but nothing crazy dark that will attract attention. My friends white g sedan looks nice with 40/40, wish I had a pic.
5% tint so they cant see up in my window

Depends what you are looking for.
Because it is a sedan, having 35% will look fairly light because of all the windows, but when it gets darker outside, it tends to look darker as opposed to having 15-5% in the back which keeps everything fairly dark regardless if it is sunny or not.
Personally, i don't like dark tint, so i got 50% all around. Very subtle look. (i drive a 4dr car as well)

Gratz on the TSX. Looks like USA spec? I've had 3 1G TSXs and enjoyed every single one. I'd get just the back 3 done. Looks fine.

Kal lookout in Vernon?
I am thinking about doing 15% rears and 50% front now.. Had 5% on the rear hatch of my old car and loved it, but have a coupe now and 15% should be good for the back 3 windows.

I have and would recommend 15% rear and 45% front.
I would never get darker than 15% again

I had 50% front and 5% rears on my 200sx from 2001 till April 5 2011 and had zero issues. But I have to say that after 5yrs the tint degraded to the point where the fronts were probably around 70-80% and the rears around 30-35%. but when it was fresh man the back windows at night were a pain in the ass to look out off.
My car also had a moderately loud exhaust, not lowered but it was bright red too.
The interior was a dark grey and black so from a 3/4 front angle the front tints looked tinted but once you got a full side view couldn't really tell anymore. But again that is after 5yrs or so.
