eta: ive never bought anything off groupon before, are you supposed to get an immediate confirmation once you process the order? i tried signing in to confirm to see if the order went through but the site said i didnt have an account?

Got this from RFD:

Bought one to see if it would work. Made a purchase on eBay.com and the gift card went through on eBay but then it requires you to login to PayPal where it failed. My account is CDN so I got an error message saying the promotion code is invalid. Bye bye $7 :cry:

I think the only requirement is that it be on a US based credit card. (i.e. a US based address) When you fill in the payment, it obviously only lets you enter in a billing ZIP code and doesn't ask for country so obviously this is the way they limit it to US buyers only.

It never asks for your eBay account so I would suspect Groupon wouldn't know or care where your eBay account is actually registered for. However, when you use it, it may say that it only works in the US. (this part is the unknown until you go to use it, but you can always change your eBay address anyways to a different country at any time)

EDIT: I suck at reading. :S It lets you select a province in the State/Province drop down.

It could possibly be looking at your Paypal e-mail address (which would be the e-mail address they ask for) and checking it that way? It'll be interesting to see what they do...in any case, I did use my US based and addressed credit card that's linked to my US Paypal e-mail address so I should be safe.

i emailed groupon from the "contact" page in the confirmation email they sent me for the groupon

within 5 minutes i got an email back saying it was refunded
