Didn't know this existed. Enter in the names of your friends and family members and find out how many times they have been to court to fight traffic and bylaw tickets.

Not a bad way to kill some time.

it's not just traffic court. you can also look up criminal charges and resulting dispositions as well as it's mostly public info unless the judge has put a disclosure/publication ban on the file to protect identities, etc.

it's been up for quite some time. only recently were the search results made free. before, you actually had to go to the courthouse and access the system for a free printout.

EDIT: besides looking up people's names, if you've ever been involved in a police matter (presumably as a victim or witness, of course), you can enter the police agency file/report number into the system to see who was charged and what the disposition was as well.

This is fun! It's not fully accurate. A lot of my tickets are missing. Whereas my friends from many years ago are still posted.

Are they tickets you took to court? Because the tickets you don't dispute shouldn't be on there.

Goldmine! It provides the year of birth under "participants" and more details under "Sentences/Disp".

There's a lot of Gordon Campbells. Start looking up your politicians.

lol, this is such old news...

but recently they made ALL cases available for free, before you used to have to pay 10 or 5$ to view the case file.

The sad thing about this is that it basically screws people who are innocent but were caught up in charges anyway (even though the cases were either dismissed or found to be not guilty)

institutions / companies still consider you guilty (seen it happen where ive worked and with people i know)
