Is there a way to just pay for a lien search? I don't want to pay for carfax/car proof because I have already done an ICBC history check. I already used to search button and haven't found anything. Thanks in advance.

As per ICBC:

Lien searches are done by

* some ServiceBC centres external link (in-person only)
* the B.C. government Personal Property Registry external link (in-person or written requests), and
* private title services (in the Yellow Pages, see "Title Service").

For more information, please contact the Personal Property Registry. external link

http://www.icbc.com/faqs/registration_faqs

Note: ICBC no longer does lien searches.

bringing back an older thread, but is there anyway to clear a lien, other than having the owner supply a bank release form? also, what does a bank release form look like?

eta: i made some calls around and did a carproof and lien looks like it has not been paid off. but owner says that he paid it all off 2 months ago. what do?
