I'm on rogers and due for a Hup in june but retentions said they wont know if that phone will be avialible for an early upgrade. Anyone ever gotten an early upgrade before? Aside from existing iphone owners who got the iphone 4 earlier....

Early hup means pay a small penalty depending how close u upgrade relative to the set date of allowance

If you are in highest tier system, you won't get any penalties by upgrading. Early HUP is for those that don't meet the tier systems without penalties but want to upgrade their phone. Besides, even retention reps won't know if the phone is upgradeable or not when the phone itself isn't release in Rogers yet.
