seeing all this shit makes me realise that we are probably going to be the last and best generation that ever existed.
growing up with light brights, nerf guns, water baloons, saturday morning cartoons, the first mario game, and how about when your parents bought you a game, thats the only game youd get for months and youd make sure to finish it till the very end.
8 year old kids these days get pissed off at their parents if they dont get an ipad, then all the other kids at shcool make fun of your kid for not having an ipad, when all they do on it is play angry birds anyway,
There will never be cool cartoons anymore, because our tv networks are run by overly protective politically correct retards, who say old disney cartoons were sexist and racist.
also 8 year old are now telling you to fuck yourself in online games, and thats only before their attention span lasts about 3 days before they need a new game. rpg's that take 40 hours? forget it, just recycle online fps's over, and over, and over.
shit just isnt the same anymore... im dreading having kids in this new generation, I wont know how to raise them,
im afraid il just slap them senseless because their such spoiled little shits that dont know the value of a dollar, or how to teach them to finish something once theiv started it, and not just ADD out like 80% of the other child population out there.
School districts are even supplying ipads to kids now,
just fucking give them a pencil, and some paper.
I dunno, maybe I just wont have kids, at this point I cant stand them.

Many years later I finally learn exactly why modems made those awesome(awful) sounds:
absorptions: The sound of the dialup, pictured (http://windytan.blogspot.fi/2012/11/the-sound-of-dialup-pictured.html)
I didn't remember until I saw this picture and it brought it all back. Kids today don't know what they're missing.
http://www.revscene.net/forums/attachments/forum14/5517d1302640851-1297345444829.jpg
Also, last summer I actually saw a parachute outside of a school during lunch break and some kids were playing with it. My first instinct was to take a picture for this thread but that probably would have gotten me onto some sort of RCMP list so you'll have to take my word for it.

Ahhh, what it was to be young. Kuwahara BMX's, RAD the movie, kickass cartoons, Nintendo was insanely awesome, Ground Zero and PD's skate shop, the mutha fcukin Richmond Skate Ranch, Steveston BMX track(now it's just a stupid field of grass), Koby's Billards and Johnny Z's before Laser Illusions, Ocean Pacific and T&C Surf Designs clothing, Richmond Centre was Richmond Square and the 3 theatres were where the Sears parkade is now.

there used to be a place called the Attic in West Van, early 70's. if you were heading towards Park Royal, you would see it before you got to the mall. anyways, they had the original Bond Aston Matin(DB5), under a glass shed, and we'd always have a look when we went by on our 2 speed bikes.

Anyone remember when our phone company was BC Telephone Company? I vaguely remember a time when we could dial a certain combination of numbers on the phone and connect with other teens that were also dialing the same number. It's hard to explain but maybe another old timer remembers and can expand on this.

TV was so much better in the 80's before they brought in the rule that a certain percentage had to be Canadian content. Commercials especially, we missed out on cool commercials for toys and cereal.
There was a lot of good Canadian content as well, don't get me wrong! But a lot of it was crap

56k was a modem too fast that I could not afford.
We only had the 20~k modem
AOL Canada... waiting 20 minutes to look at a picture of dragonball.
Then switched to some other internet provider.
Netscape was my browser and yahoo or lycos was my search engine.
I used hotmail for email and geocities for my crappy "website" host.
Napster was great. I miss that.
You could play starcraft without an internet connection as long as you had the other person's phone number.

I remember Big Wheels. I went though about three of them because the front wheel, being made of plastic, kept getting a big hole worn in it from all of my "burn outs'. And yes, it was in the early 70's that I got my first one, about 1974. And yes, I jumped the Hell out of it every time I got.

googled 90s feels and came across this thread
LOL at the response for bagging on the guy for being 22 yet still had a 90's childhood
those that were born the mid to late 80's had real 90s childhood...but it's those that were born in the 80-85 that actually 'grew up' in the 90's as their formative/teenage years

Yeah you're not a 90's kid if you were born in the 90's... You're a baby/pokemon player
If you were born in the early 80's you got to enjoy the 90's as a 10-19 year old. Not a fucken 3 year old :fuckthatshit:

80s fashion was horrendous, but 90s clothing was AWESOME!! I miss band t-shirt, flannel, long-sleeve waffle shirts, doc martens, jean cut-offs, woolly socks, etc.
It certainly wasn't "sexy" but fucking hell, it was comfortable. None of this skinny jean, tight shirt, low waisted jean, low-cut shirt bullshit :)

I still have my VCR and have recently watched some of my VHS tapes :)
And, if you wanted to record your fav song, you'd have to sit next to your "ghetto blaster", wait for it to come on the radio, and scramble to push the record button without missing too much of it :D
