There's a promo at Lordco for Jet torque wrench, down from $200 to $99.95.
Anyone have one? Are they any good and worth $100?

Thanks!

yeah, they're decent for home jobs and minor shop work....just get them calibrated and certified every once in a while to keep its accuracy.

the cheapest 1/2" torque wrench is at Princess auto. I think I bought mine for $30 when it was on sale. Can't complain when its only $30!

^^ yea thats true, but how accurate can a 30$ wrench be?

^^If you need a cheap torque wrench then just get a beam style, buying a $30 princess auto torque wrench can't be much more accurate than going by feel.

I got something generic like this for $30 in Portland. Works pretty well and I have used it for about 2-3 years.

I have 2 torque wrenches,a cheap PA $30 one and a very expensive Snap-on digital torque wrench. The cheap one I use to tighten lug nuts and the expensive one is for all the stuff that needs to be tightened with accuracy.

if your buying it to tighten anything on a car other then motor internals a $30 princess auto one will be fine. you wheel stud or motor mount or suspension bushing bolts won't know the difference between +/- 5 foot pounds

and if your looking to tighten small bolts at like 10-15 pounds (like valve cover bolts) then a 1/2 inch torque wrench isn't the right tool.
