Anyone doing the sun run this year? Kinda got pushed into it so and I haven't really ran a 10k before so I do not know what to expect. Any tips for first time runners? ( Most likely I going to walk the majority of it :( )

Hey I'm doing it as well. My best time is just under 45 mintues.
One advice I can give is do some light warmup and then stretch before the run. You can jog at your own pace. Try to enjoy it while you're there. =D

what do you recommend for pre-run/stretch warm ups?
i tore my Achilles with improper stretching and warm up 2 months ago.

As much as i never intend to run the sunrun...
...the beauitiful thing about the sunrun is that it gets people out there and train. For a lot of people, thats a huge sense of accomplishment, and it should feel like that!
Running isn't easy, i don't care what anyone says. Its also boring, and redundant. But the sun run gets people that can hardly run for 10 minutes and all of a sudden they accomplish 10km.
I'm thinking that next year i am gonna run the sun run....in bare feet.
back in highschool i clocked about a 45ish,
havn't done it since, too scared to not finish

did it in 52:49, dodging the crowds really slowed me down
Wtf I did it in 1 hour 32. I walked half of it and didn't run since last year's run
One of my life goals is to break the 1hr mark for 10km

Daamnn 45 is a great time.
Coworker did 48 last year and he is hella fit
58 for me last year, not bad for a smoker imo
Next year gonna try to do it under 1hr. Havent done that much running since my highschool days. I miss track and field.

first time running anything ever. was 305-310lbs last February and now 230lbs, wish I could of trained for this thing, but personal reasons didn't let me do so. So really hockey was my only training haha.
1hour and 9mins
had a pee break near the beginning and ran into the Chevron on Georgia, lost 5 minutes there, and then someone got TKO'd at the finish line which stalled me and everyone around me for another 5-10 minutes.
next year I am gonna be under 1 hour mark!
oh probably ran a good 10km straight and 1km sideways dodging people.

Want to. Did it last year, first time in a long time. 55 mins, it wasn't too bad I guess since it'd been a while.
