It's been billed for realism in it's physics and visuals, not the elements of the missions itself. I don't expect any blockbuster video games to do so, you gotta cater to everyone.

Um...the Battlefield series is not aiming for real life, they're aiming for a balance between reality and gaming. Patrich Bach, executive producer at DICE, stated exactly that. Any person not suffering from aspergers or downs understands this concept.
They're aiming for that sweet spot that makes the game feel realistic, shows off realism on a visual and sound level and making it compatible with a video game. That's the aim that every video game designer tries to shoot for.

I'm a programmer, I do code and it's not hard to make the game "real", what would be hard is getting anyone to play that when they can just live life.. but that's the point. Games are meant to be games, you tool.

Call of Duty died when the Black Ops came out. There are so many problems with it and it's so repetitive, but that's just me. I play on the PC and the Zombies are so glitchy. (you can't play games with friends).

ahem yes in real life you do get ordered around to do things in the midst of a firefight... they're not just free for alls like CoD or most games allow you to play

and yes small squads do go off on recce missions, hence the point of recce units...

i've played both games since PS2 and xbox version BF/destructible environment = WIN

but that modern warfare 3 trailer is the best thing to come from the CoD franchise and its a good laugh cause that shit is what does happen, especially staring into the desert at nothing for countless hours :D,
