Detroit— A 49-year-old man has been charged today with sexually assaulting a female coma patient in a Detroit nursing home, according to Wayne County's prosecutor.
Cornell Lowman of Detroit is to be arraigned this afternoon in the city's 36th District Court on charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and being a four-time felony offender. Being a repeat offender means conviction could result in a sentence of up to life.
Lowman is accused of assaulting a comatose 65-year-old woman while visiting a different patient in a nursing home on the city's east side. Police were called by someone who claims to have seen Lowman walk into the woman's room and assault her. Lowman was arrested at the nursing home.
