A HIGH-profile Chinese author is planning to spend more than $150,000 on plastic surgery to make himself look like William Shakespeare.
Zhang Yiyi will undergo 10 surgeries over a 10-month period to sculpt his face into the spitting image of the British playwright, the Shanghai Daily reported.
...
Zhang's plan, first reported by China National Radio, was dismissed as attention-seeking by many Chinese internet users. Zhang is a controversial figure who once compared himself to China's great sage, Confucius.
She taught me right from wrong and always told me to stay positive and help others no matter how small the deed - that helping others gives us meaning to carry on. The sun is out today and it's a new day. Life is good. I just needed a slap in the face.
Sad thing is nobody knows what shakespeare looks like. Those painting are just artist rendering probably with a model as reference or the artist themselves. Posted via RS Mobile
Due to the fact that there was not a single car chase in any of his plays, Shakespeare was obviously a woman. I hope this poor bastard knows what he's getting himself into.

I need to contribute one fact about Shakespear I find hilarious.
Throughout his life Shakespear strove to not allow a single piece of his work to be published and went to great lengths to prevent it from making it into print, his desire was for it to never be read, only viewed as a play and under his immediate direction so his art would be viewed in the precise way he intended. Now, Shakespear is quite possibly the most published and studied author in history outside of religious texts.

No credible scholar gives any merit to that thesis, the ideas it puts forward are the literary equivalent of faith healing to medical research. The scholarly community is able to provide ten pieces of inarguable fact to disprove every single theory it puts forward.

There are a number of depictions of Shakespear from various points in his life and there is a degree of consistency within all of them, but as with any painting there is a significant amount of artistic license.
