Not wild about the typeface, but a serif font would have not worked.

"Helvetica" is the Latin name given to the current area known as Switzerland.
There is no actual "Swiss" language as the country is mixed of French, German, and Italian speaking people. Thus, the Swiss Franc currency is abbreviated as CHF - Confederation Helvetica Franc.
