'Japan bombed China with plague-fleas'

Never heard about this... I guess this counts as biological warfare.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/1135368.stm

I think somebody mentioned that Japan text books and such kind of gloss over WW2 and Japan's involvement in it? Does anybody have info on that?

What about Germany? Surely they don't seem like the type to downplay their involvement.

They also floated bombs on helium balloons from Japan to North America. They were definitely thinking outside of the box. These are like evil cartoon villain tactics.

Thats nothing compared to the States, they developed bat-bombs.

Fire bombs strapped to bats, they would have dropped canisters full of bats, and the bats would go roost. then the timed bombs would go off.

Inovative but 9300 balloons and 6 casulaties and the only reason they killed them is because the family went to investigate the perdy balloon.

hmm too bad even if it's true the Japanese would probably never admit it...unlike Americans that release classified files after a few decades later.

If you read the 10yr old article... you would see they are accused of dumping diseased fleas on this area by the side that is demanding compensation...

when accusations become fact simply because of the charge then everyone should just kill themselves cuz the retards have won

German students know full well the shame of WWI and WWII.

Some are open to talk about it and some are not with foreigners. The German guys I know joke about it all the time, lol.

But they're taught never to repeat recent history.....

I don't agree that the people today should have to "pay" for the mistakes made by their ancestors.

However, I would like to see Japan come out and openly admit these "crimes", and apologize for it.

Then I suggest you avoid the UFO thread - a severe lack of critical thinking going on in there. At times I think the discussion is so loopy that its just set up to troll skeptics like myself.

On topic, the Alaska Highway was another aspect of fear of Japanese attack. It was quite an engineering feat and Canada was able to convince the US to pay for it all and hand over the portions inside Canada.

Seriously, I hope you're not that gullible to believe these people. Most shit that get's done to one nation by another , 98% of the population of the aggressor nation is innocent. So tell your friends to eat shit.

Japanese people are well aware of the things that went on during WWII. Many Japanese people are ashamed of their history and culture because of it; Pre-War Imperial Japan anyhow.

What people? Your friends? Internet trolls? Religious fanatics?

You are a f*king idiot purely based on the fact you posted this. It's pretty obvious why, but I will let you work that one out.

Anyhow...

All is fair in love and war....

It's not like Japan was the first/only country to do these types of things.

Do you honestly think the US hasn't done many of the same things? Fortunately they have generally been on the winning side, and therefore their dirty laundry is kept in the basket.

Good thing we have the Geneva Conventions now...I guess.

Germans are generally very ashamed of their WWII history...

Japan is quite divided tho...those Japanese who admit guilts and wrongdoings during WWII are often detested by others as being unpatriotic
I remember a news articles a while ago criticizing japan for using textbook that mention little to nothing about the country's acts during WWII.

You and anyone who said that are just fucking stupid
even if you believe in karma (fairness & justice), it should be something that is applied on a personal level.
Do you think it is fair or just to punish someone for their ancestor's wrong doing?

No, no. That kind of talk is really just biggotry and counterproductive.

I saw the article and it was never taught to me in high school history and mass media that Japan intentionally committed bio-warfare and intentional targeted atrocities. I always just wrote is off as an economically-driven war that coincidentally happened with a very imperialistic culture at the time. That's why I never really understood that bitterness and grudge that my Grandparents and older aunts and uncles have against the Japanese. It's not so much a hate, but they seem to have this anger and fire in their speech I just never see in such easy going people.

And just thinking about that sparked something else that somebody (don't remember who) mentioned in the Earthquake thread about Japan making vague references to their participation in WW2. Something about it being glossed over. I know Japan has a very face-important culture and along with that comes a lot of pleasantries and masked meanings. I mean, I know how Canada and US plays out that chapter of history, as tough-as-nails saviors for Europe. "Our grandparents risked their lives to extinguish the evil nations for the freedoms we take for granted today". But as for Japan and Germany, I'm not to sure how it's handled in their culture. I don't really have any Japanese or German friends that I can ask, so I thought I'd ask here.

Here's an interesting video from WW2. Most have probably never seen this footage before.

Not for the faint of heart. It's from a french documentary made in 1955 about the holocaust.. It's called "Night and Fog.
