Using a truck subwoofer box in a Car trunk

Hey guys,

So I bought a Kicker Comp 10' sub

http://www.visions.ca/Catalogue/Cate...productId=6042

and a Pioneer 350W Max Amp

http://www.visions.ca/Catalogue/Cate...productId=6159

===========================================

The guy said this box was the cheapest so i copped this one

http://www.visions.ca/Catalogue/Cate...productId=7751
============================================

problem i have is..I have a teg 4 door, not a Truck.

Can I use this box in my car trunk or should I go back and get a normal Car style box? Also for the Amp I am aware you mount it to the box but you are not able to on the back of this box.

Much appreciated.

Well, buying an enclosure based on the fact that its the cheapest should be a sign right there. The Kicker sub should work ok in that enclosure based on the volume that it requires. Having a box custom built to the specs of the sub would be better of course. Oh, and ported is the way to go in my opinion!

If you haven't opened/installed that gear yet, take it back. Don't give those assholes at Visions your money. Never have I hated a store more than them.

Only reason I suggest this (not just because of the Vision dicks) is maybe you can shoot orgasm_donor a dollar/budget for an amp/sub/box. You might be surprized at what he could do for you. Not to mention you might end up with nicer/better sounding gear SoundsGood won't let you down.

But if it's already half way into your car, then not to worry. It'll do the job!

i have heard bad things about them but the guy was alright.

Yeah I would be down to do that and go to SoundsGood for a ported box but I am on a budget (only paid $89 for the box) and driving 40 mins to Poco is a pain haha.

Let me know whats good orgasm_donor!

The shop really isn't in PoCo... if you know where the Ikea in Coquitlam is, you're basically there. It's like 30sec away from the Brunette off ramps. Well worth the drive. Just something to think about, you won't regret it.

We have a sealed truck box starting at $65. We have a ported box that'l cost a little bit more. We always have a great solution for you but if you don't want to travel to Coquitlam you can always give our other sponsors a try.

Although it's not my gear, but we put it in for him.

It did the job alright for one sub. Could use a little more power but still sufficient if you're looking for just a little bit more bass.

If you're running TWO subs you would want something in the 300RMS x 1 range @ 2 ohms. This amp is just enough to run ONE sub.
