Need advice....Gas Mask Shopping...

So anyways, I need to pickup a new mask soon. My Scott panamara mask has been taking a super beating lately and im finding it very uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time...

Heres the issue, I'm not planning or well, i dont plan to spend 300+ plus for something that I use once every 3 months.

lol, i even looked into getting an ebay avon mask ...lol and attach my niosh approved Scott filters to them...

anyone know a place in gvrd that i can go and test fit some decent masks??

Im using it for ammonia engine rooms...some places have +10,000 lbs or liquid ammonia and a full face mask is a lot better than an escape pak..haha

thanks a mili

I like using 3M 6000 series - I could probably wear it indefinitely if I needed to

Try Acklands for a first stop. Look for a fit testing service - you really want to make sure that you get a good fit.

Finally, $ shouldn't be an impediment to getting good PPE, and you may be able to
a) get your employer to pick up the tab
b) deduct it come tax season (not sure, just a guess...)

Hazmasters
Ackland Grainger

I personally like using 3M. Please ensure that you are getting the correct protection factor.

Currently the TWA is 25 ppm. I hope your company has done hygiene testing to see what the typical levels are on a normal day.
