ChumpCar Race - Race City Track - Calgary

Hey everyone,

This is who we are: http://www.chumpcar.com/

and this is what we do:

Our next event is at Race City in Calgary on May 21st and 22nd. It's a little short on time to build a car to come compete with us, but we'll be back in the area before too long. Come over, volunteer to work the track if you want, or just hang out with the crowd and see exactly how one of these races goes.

Most of the street cars found around here are a bit too nice to get turned into a ChumpCar, but after one of you piles it into a telephone pole, then it's just about right.

If anyone has an honest interest or wants to learn more, shoot me an email off-board at chrisw@chumpcar.com .

Hi Chris. Calgary is a long ways away. There are lots of road racers here in Vancouver that would be interested in doing an event at Mission or even Seattle.

Neither chumpcar nor lemons offers events at those venues.

This would be awesome to enter if venues were local. I'm sure some RS'ers would want to put together a few teams and compete.

This

edit: Spotted, I think, Towery's 245... Atleast I recognize it from turbobricks somewhere.

You could try posting this on beyond.ca as well, it's a local (Calgary) car forum...

Well, picking out new locations is what I help do, so I've breached the subject of Mission Raceway Park with the powers that be. Pacific Raceways (Kent, WA) has a few too many trees for our liking, but in theory that could be mitigated by running the course backwards. Still working on how to make Pacific safe enough. There's also "The Ridge" (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=West+Eells+Hill+Rd,+NE,+Shelton+WA&aq=&sll=37.160317,-95.712891&sspn=54.358576,113.818359&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=W+Eells+Hill+Rd,+Shelton,+Mason,+Washington+98584&ll=47.252917,-123.190427&spn=0.011521,0.027788&t=h&z=16) http://www.ridgemotorsportspark.com/ -- hopefully constructed and ready to go so that we can land a 2012 date there. Stay tuned. I'll come back later if I succeed in getting anything of the sort done.

If you feel like a drive, take this as an official invitation to just show up, see what we're about, and have a good time at either our Spokane County Raceway race (July 23rd and 24th) or at our Portland International Raceway race (October 29th and 30th).
