It's shipped USPS and delivered by Canadapost. You can track most USPS tracking #'s on the Canadapost site once your item has arrived in Canada.

Canada Post ships it to your door once it crosses the border
i also suggest you to edit what you wrote - that was a bit painful to read.

USPS First Class = Untrackable
USPS Priority International = Trackable
After it passes Canadian borders, USPS's site no longer tracks it properly and you'll have to use the Canadapost one (which works from the time it starts heading to Canada)

USPS First Class provides you with a tracking number...but it doesn't update because its untrackable

Chances are it was shipped USPS First Class as that's the most economical option. So you will not get tracking with it.
what i do is just keep updated with both. basically any international shipping company (EMS, USPS) can be tracked via canada post
that's assuming you were even given a tracking number

it does, its just that your shipper havent given the package to the post office yet. They can get labels printed before hand.

I have a feeling that seller is using the most economical method. From my knowledge, all packages are trackable but only to a certain extent. This method tracks when the package is submitted for a waybill and when it has arrived to your house. That's it.
Also, you may want to look into getting an account with Hagens or some other carrier b/c it will reduce delays big time. A package that will take 1 week to arrive at your house may arrive at Hagen's in 3 days.
^ what he said. the first few sentences anyway
i've had a bunch of packages like that too. was given a tracking number, and the only update was "electronic shipping info received"
even after i received the package, 2 days went by with no updates still. not sure why that was but yeah. kinda weird. don't count on any updates

There's a difference between "Delivery Confirmation" and "Tracking".
Depending on the USPS option used, you might only have a tracking number that provides "Delivery Confirmation". You won't get updates as to where the package is, only if it's been successfully delivered.
Using USPS, wow long does it usually take for an item to get to Canada from the states?....say from california? Because I ordered something and its been two weeks :(. I ordered stuff before and its waaay shorter but that was with Fedex or UPS.

I don't know why yours taking so long.
Yeah this is bs. And it doesnt even track.

It's not abnormal for a package to take up to 2 weeks when it is being shipped from the States using USPS.
Especially given that this last month had a couple holidays near the end of the month. Keep in mind the ETA would be anywhere between 7-14 business days depending on the location of the package and that is only business days (Mon-Fri.) This does not account for any delays at customs.

i've had packages from US go up to 3 weeks with First Class
but yeah priority is usually 2 weeks but customs hold up may take longer

Canada Custom is a little bitch so even 4 weeks for international/US shipment aren't too unreasonable.
"Int'l shipment release" means it passed custom, could be 1,2 days or even more before it's "Out for Delivery".

depends on who's shipping it. should be arriving today (hopefully it is, otherwise you'll have to wait til monday)
has it updated at all? keep in mind it usually has to be sorted at the warehouse before it can be sent out for delivery. so if it still says that it's only cleared, you'll probably have to wait until monday

if its only cleared customs, canadapost will usually deliver it the next business day.

May 6, 2011 9:11 AM At local FedEx facility
should be here tomorrow?...it's still about 200 km away from me
tomorrow? no there is no tomorrow, it's a saturday!
unless you opted and paid for saturday shipping, if you don't receive it today, you'll be waiting until next week

I'm having a hard time following here...Your last update showed that it was in Richmond, B.C. Now it says it's at the local Fedex Depot yet you're saying it's 200KM away from you?? None of this adds up. Your package is here (probably about 15-20 minutes away from where you live.) It's just a matter of getting a truck driver to deliver to your house now.
And as mentioned earlier, if it doesn't make today' shipment, then you will receive it on Monday.
On a side note, my Canucks hoody arrived in the mail today! Ordered it 2 days ago, shipped from Ontario yesterday, arrived this morning lol. Yay for Canadian shopping.
