: automatic monitor back light adjusting

i rmb i saw a thread in this forum giving a link to a site that lets you download a program that automatically adjust the brightness of your monitor according to time of day..but cant seem to find it anywhere atm can someone link me please if they know what it is is? thanks!

During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.
f.lux

F.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.

my 2nd weeks of using it and not really used to it...

monitor tends to be yellowish at night ... A bit too dark for my taste

^ is the lighting in your room fluorescent or halogen? You should set the program to the colour of the lighting in your room.
